How to Log In to RansNet Wi-Fi Captive Portal Using Email OTP

This sample guide provides step-by-step instructions to help end users connect to the Internet through the RansNet captive portal with email verification. Venue owners and service providers can use it as a reference to prepare their own branded user guide — replace the placeholders (such as the Wi-Fi network name) with your own values.


Login Steps

Step 1: Connect to the Wi-Fi network

  • Open your device's Wi-Fi settings.
  • Select the Wi-Fi network (SSID): [Insert Network Name Here].
  • Wait for your device to establish a connection.

Step 2: Captive portal appears

  • Once connected to the Wi-Fi, the captive portal page opens automatically in your browser.
  • If the portal does not appear, open a web browser manually and visit any website, or go to captive.ransnet.com/status — this triggers the portal to load.

Step 3: Enter your email address

  • On the captive portal page, locate the Email Address field and enter your email address.
  • Below the email field, check the box to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  • Click the Get OTP button to continue.

Step 4: Confirm the disclaimer

  • A Disclaimer pop-up appears after you click Get OTP.
  • Review the disclaimer, then click OK to confirm and submit the form.

Step 5: Temporary access granted

  • You are redirected to an external website (typically the venue owner's website) or to the Status Page, which shows your connection details (bandwidth, traffic, session time).
  • At this stage you are granted 10 minutes of free access at limited speed — enough to open your mailbox and retrieve the verification email.

Warning

Do not switch to another Wi-Fi SSID or to mobile data during this step. The verification link must be opened while your device is still connected to this Wi-Fi network.

Step 6: Open your email and click the verification link

  • Check your email inbox for a message containing a verification link.
  • If the email is not in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
  • Click the verification link in the email to complete the authentication.

Step 7: Successful connection

  • After clicking the verification link, a success page confirms your authentication.

Step 8: Final redirect

  • You are automatically redirected to the Wi-Fi owner's website or to the status page at captive.ransnet.com/status, where you can view your connection status at any time.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to Do
The captive portal does not pop up after connecting Open a browser manually and visit any website, or go to captive.ransnet.com/status. If it still does not load, forget the Wi-Fi network on your device and reconnect.
The verification email has not arrived Check your spam/junk folder. Confirm the email address was typed correctly — reconnect and submit again if needed.
The verification link says the session is invalid or expired The 10-minute window has passed, or the device switched networks before verifying. Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network and repeat the login from Step 2.
Connected but no Internet after verification Open captive.ransnet.com/status to check your session status, or disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.
