SMTP for Email Login Method

mbox sign-in portal supports user self-registration via email, sends email OTP via email to validation link to a valid email address. The OTP email can be sent by mbox default SMTP server (which is using a Gmail account with info@ransnet.com) or by the customer’s own/custom SMTP email server.

Configure SMTP mail server

User can navigate to HOTSPOT SETTINGS > Captive Portals (‘Select the target portal’s backend settings’) > Login Method tab > and click on session

User need to enable ‘allow the less secure apps ‘ to access the account so that user can use the Gmail SMTP

1. Visit (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en) URL
2. Go to the “Less secure apps” section in My Account.
a. https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/security/lesssecureapps
3. Next to “Access for less secure apps,” select Turn on.
(Note to G Suite users: This setting is hidden if your administrator has locked less secure app account access.)
4. If you have 2-Step Verification enabled in your Gmail account, you need to create an App-specific password. Refer to 2-Step Verification
