Cloud Advertisements

Overview

RansNet Ads platform is a multi-tenant cloud-based monetization platform that empowers venue owners or agencies to centrally manage and stream Wi-Fi advertisement (image or video banners) to their target portals/locations, schedules ads to push at a different time/date with different weights, and report statistics on impressions and click-through rates, etc.

The ads push natively works with mbox captive portal as a pop-up prior to the login page.

NOTE

It is also possible to use this platform to push advertisement to an external/3rd-party captive portal or literally any web page so that customers or partners can use the platform for advertising. To do this, you just need to download the sample Ads HTML code and embed it into your external portal or web page.

Cloud Ads Management

User can contact the RansNet account manager for the Cloud Advertisement platform login credentials. This platform is licensed based on the number of impressions.

Seven Steps to configure Cloud Ads.

The RansNet Cloud Advertisement platform consists of 5 main Menus: Dashboard, Campaign, Banners, Zones, and Statistics to configure the Advertisement and monitor the stats.

Dashboard Menu

User can navigate to the left panel menu ‘WI-FI MONETIZATION > Dashboard‘ to view the cloud Ads information in graph format. The types of information can be found

Campaign Menu

User can navigate to the ‘WI-FI MONETIZATION > Campaigns‘ menu on the left side to configure a campaign per customer. to create a new campaign, user can click on the button to configure the campaign details.

The fields of Campaign details are summarized below:

Banners Menu

User can navigate to the ‘WI-FI MONETIZATION > Banners‘ menu on the left side to configure a banner to map to campaign.

The Banner menu contains 3 sections (Banner Repository, Banner, and Banner Options) to configure the banner for the created campaign. There is a sequence to follow while configuring the banner

  1. User need to add the media files to the banner repository by navigating to the ‘Banners > Banner Repository‘ tab.
    • User can also delete the media file from the banner repository by clicking on the icon.
    • User can add the media file to the Banner tab list from the banner repository by clicking on the

NOTE

The allowed media can be:
Image file extension ( : “jpg”,”jpeg”,”png”) and max file size (2MB)
Video file extensions(: “mp4”) and max file size (10MB)

The entity is only allowed a certain amount (200MB) of file storage. It is advisable to delete unused images or videos to save storage.

  1. As a next step, the user can add the stored banner from the banner repository to the Banners Tab list by clicking the button to open ‘NEW BANNER‘ (Banner Details) UI to configure the Banner.
    • Info: Use can edit the configured banner by clicking on the banner file name in the Banner Tab list.

The banner name will be in the format of [banner file name_RANSNET BANNER ID.file extension].

06Click Through URLThe added banner can be linked to a URL, for the user to navigate to any website.
Note: The URL needs to be whitelisted in the HSG Hotspot Instance. Refer Edit Instance table.
07Page TargetThe above mention website can be open on the same page or a new page.

  1. (Optional) – User can configure ‘Criteria’s‘ for the banner to schedule ads push at a different time/day/date/URL by navigating to ‘Banners >Banner Tab‘, click on the existing banner name and click on the ‘Banner Options‘ Tab.
    • User can add ‘Criteria’s’ for the banner by clicking on the icon.

The fields of Criteria’s are summarized below:

Zones Menu

User can access the Zones to configure the banner (impression) no of times to appear on the user device, time interval between each impression, streaming method, and mapping setting. The Zones consist of 2 sections (Zone Details and Code Generator) to configure and it links the Campaign and the banners attached to the campaign.

There is a sequence to follow while configuring the Zone.

  1. Use can navigate to ‘Zones’ left menu and click the button to configure new Zone Info details.

The fields of Criteria’s are summarized below:

  1. User can configure as per Table 3, click on the fine cropped save change button button, and configure the remaining setting below.

03 Limit total Impression User can mention the no of times the impression appears on the user device.
Info: It’s a collective impression count, not counted per device.
04 In-Session push interval every The interval between each impression (banner).
Info: This time interval applies to the per-user device.
07 Streaming optionImpression streaming supports two methods.
Method 1. Single Impression – Single banner (Impression) appears one at a time from the selected campaign.
Method 2. Multiple Impression – All the banner (Impression) appears one after the other from the selected campaign with specific time interval setting configured only for Multiple Impression.
08 CampaignSelect the campaign created for the customer.
Table 3 (Cont…) : Fields of Zone Detail

  1. User can click on the fine cropped save change button button again after configuring as per Table 3 (Cont…).

Generate | Copy | & Paste CMD Code

  1. User can click on the ‘Push Advertisement‘ Tab to generate the CMS-Code

  1. User can click on the button in the ‘Code Generator‘ section located in the Push Advertisement interface.
  2. Copy the CMS Code URL without any space and paste it to the configured captive portal.

Statistics Menu

User can navigate to the ‘WI-FI MONETIZATION >Statistics‘ menu on the left side, to view the Advertiser’s, Campaign’s, Banner’s and Zone’s statistics as shown below.
